Forum: Core support ExiteCMS RSS Feed Generator v1.0 (Feed Manager) <![CDATA[ Re: core question ]]> WanWizard writes:
Don't know where you looked.

The current release version of ExiteCMS, version 7.3, is not based on CodeIgniter, it still uses traditional procedural code.

For ExiteCMS v8, we're doing a complete rewrite, based on the CI framework. There is currently a very early alpha version in the downloads (see the link in the panel on the right), but I would advise against using it, as we are busy with a complete rewrite of de core code using Modular CI and Datamapper DMZ.

We expect it to finished for a first alpha release in a month or so, we're a bit low on development resources at the moment...

Our code repository is available via de 'ExiteCMS v8 project' link on the left. Note that the rewrite branch is not public at the moment. ]]>

Hello darkfly, and welcome.

It's good to read you've got it working. i've added the fix in SVN revision 469.

We have never tested v8 against Windows, so please let us know if you bump into other issues, so we can have them fixed. ]]>

I'm able to pass this problem. Had to change the code in main index.php.

<![CDATA[ RE: Installation problems step1 ]]> WanWizard writes:
Planning has slipped a bit.

We're working on a new core module to introduce a workflow engine into ExiteCMS. This has a major impact on different core components, including the setup controllers.

Currently, the setup controllers have been updated and checked in, but the workflow module isn't available at the moment. So the current SVN state will crash on installation.

We hope to have it finished for release by the end of the week. ]]>

Apparently this really was an alpha version. smiley

I'm planning to put a second version online this weekend that has these problems fixed.

Alternatively, you can also get the latest version from SVN, by checking out the trunk URL using any SubVersion client. ]]>
